WEEK 4: Realistic Art--Beyond my Imaginations

In my point of View, I believe that all artists whether they are amateur, professionals or even the great artists were began their creativity through a particular alteration or distorted art.  Maybe they became professional because of their untiring determination how to improve themselves or just expanded their skills to become accessible and showed alternative way of describing visual experiences as an artist’s….. Until they learned to make a realistic image or realistic art.

As an artist....I admit that I have done a lot of distorted art when I was a beginner. The pulse of my little hands seemed not in control the way it moves especially when I've done some fine  free  strokes and started to drawn my piece of art, so expected  the result …..would be a distorted art.  Naturally I had a feeling of being disappointed of what I have done since I wanted to make it in a realistic one.

So, If  they will  ask me….which do prefer realistic art, alteration or distorted art….Of course, I preferably choose the realistic art. You will notice that most of my artworks are human figures.  At first I was afraid to make a realistic image but I thought, “How do I know my capability, If I will not try it.” That was a big challenge again. I knew that realistic art is one of the hardest things to do. But I said to myself that "there is no harm in trying.” Actually, I might find it hard but through my dedication and fighting spirit I have done it well.

Now, It so happen that I can draw whatever I like especially if I’m in the mood. I can draw more and more…. even in my spare time or not.  When I’m holding a pen, pencil or anything else that can make me inspire to draw… expect for a creation of art…..I’ll promise to do it with my spirit of my own artistic way and beyond my imagination.

I must say that…. I considered myself as a dreamer artist…… I want to see myself as capable of doing realistic art in many ways so that I can used it in my future profession. Until now I continue to pray and give thanks to God for my gifted hands and most of all to my gifted talents.

WEEK 3: Extemporaneous art

I have a lot of experienced to share when it comes to impromptu art.  If I’m not mistaken, during high school I became representative of our school to joined in a competition which organized by San Pablo Lions Club.  That was my very first experienced of somewhat like an impromptu art per se.  As I have remembered, the event organizer had given us time to create artwork through poster making related to the theme which they had given to us.  We utilized pastel oil as medium in our way of creativity which made me trembled because that time I didn't know yet how to apply the stroke and techniques using oil pastel.  I was so nervous because most of my opponents were veterans in that type of contest.  I admit that my confidence was so weak to the fact that I was on the middle of under time pressure.  I didn't know where to start and what kind of artistic way should I draw which may lead to me in a possible winning piece.  It became difficult for me to use it and seemed lack of time to finish my entry. I didn't win the contest but no matter what…. at least I've done my part and It was an honor for me as a competitor representative of our school that time.
My winning entry in 3rd San Pablo Comics Festival

From then on…. I started to develop my skills and talents in various field of arts. Most of all….. one thing that made me realized is that….. Those challenges gave an inspiration to boast my confidence because when I get there I used to do it in manner of expressing my ability in art….. EXPRESS THE STYLE….  I MAKE IN MY OWN UNIQUE STYLE.
First Place in Postermaking

I thought that there’s no big deal weather you’re in a competition or not the important is we must show on what is on our mind then express our fantastic ideas in our own way of creativity.

I discovered also that once you create you can feel the pleasure in doing art. One thing I assure of is that… ART IS REALLY FUN…. in the sense that you can visualize what is on your imagination through artworks.
All I can say is…….We must learn a new skill, more practice and training, build confidence to improve our works,  believe in ourselves, most of all share our talents that GOD given to us. That’s why…..  “ IN SPITE OF THOSE CHALLENGES I WON’T STOP TO EXPRESS MY CAPABILITY IN LINE OF ART.”  Go…. Go… go…. Fun… fun… fun… lets use our talents. (Let’s do the RUBADABANGO!! HAHAHA)

WEEK 2: REBIRTH ERA

Recently our professor discussed about an Overview of Art History. Actually this week our blogspot entry is about the best and most influential era of art and design. We have to choose and give our own opinion about it.  Definitely, one thing that comes first to my mind is the Renaissance period, being an influential era of all time because it was full of great changes as artists expanded their skills of making realistic images both in paint and sculpture.   Base on my research one art historian said, that the term “RENAISSSANCE “means “REBIRTH” used as a mark of an era of broad cultural achievement as result of renewed interest in the Greco-Roman Art.   The artistic treasures of the Greco-Roman antiquity inspired by Humanism, one can reach artistic greatness wisdom and enlightenment.  During this artistic period most of the Renaissance works of art were produced.  Those artworks were painting, sculpture and decorative arts of that period of European history known as the Renaissance. One thing that made me amazed was the artistic developments and the contributions of such great artist like Leonardo da Vinci and Michaelangelo who inspired the term “Renaissance man.”

Pieta is a Michaelangelo's masterpiece during Renaissance period
During this period they are known with their great quality when it comes in artistic design. Like for example in painting, they have a linear quality of Renaissance painting, they showed the clarity of which every detail is perfected and characterized by soft, deep shadows and greater awareness of the texture and handling of the paint itself, that is why high Renaissance is definitely my favorite painting style. There is so much rhythm and harmony in the paintings.

Aside from that they have an awesome sculpture, and other art were great and has a beautiful vibes.  All I can say is…. Thumbs up to those great artist in the History of Arts because they provided those who would follow the techniques and procedure that still trend and continues to this day. ^_^

WEEK 1: Mystic smile of Mona Lisa

My own artwork of Mona lisa:)) Medium: sign pen 0.5
I remembered when I was in elementary we studied about the lives and works of some great artists and scientists. At a very young age, naturally I had a great fun, looking at those artworks done by famous artists, to the fact that I was really had fond of interest in line of arts. When my teacher gave an assignment about the works of Leonardo Da Vinci that was the time when I had known about his famous portraits.  And MONA LISA is one of his most recognized works in the history of Arts. I swear… I really amazed the beauty of his famous artworks when it comes on its detailed paintings. Those artworks of famous artist made me realized that I can do my own artworks.  During that time I already tried to draw portraits using my pencils only. When I show you my drawings during elementary, maybe you can say that I was a trying hard artist because I had done those curve lines in my imperfectly way. I knew that…. I was really not so good but I tried so much to develop my ability in art.  I brought it until my high school days. I didn't stop….. I joined in different contest… sometimes I won …. Sometimes I failed….but the things that makes me happy is I can express the beauty of Arts. I started to explore myself…aside from simple pencils that I used to draw… I tried to used charcoal pencil, and pastel oil, I tried also to paint in a canvas in a medium of acrylic.  In fact, all of these made me challenged. I was opened about the comment and criticism from others so that I can improve my works.

Before, I promised to myself that I want to fulfill my dreams. I told to my parents that I wanted to take up Fine Arts someday but they told me that I can express my passion in other way.  When I got an entrance exam in Lyceum of the Philippines-Laguna, I asked to myself ….What course do I prepare to enroll when I pass the entrance.   I got an answer from Mr. Malabuyoc when he asked me about my forte… When I told him that I can do artworks and I have a little knowledge in video editing, he gave me an advised that “You must prepare to enroll in AB Multimedia Art.”   Now that I’m in College taking up AB- MMA, I realized that it also related to my passion in arts. See When I was in elementary my assignment about famous artworks of Leonardo Da Vinci is same with our topic in our Blogspot… as a part of requirements activity in our “History of Art and Design” subject.… It’s about MONA LISA.  When I was young I just had fun looking her painting now I had to research “Who is Mona Lisa?”  I surfed the internet according to what I have read ….. The Mona Lisa is quite possibly the most well-known piece of painted artwork in the entire world. The Mona Lisa is quite possibly the most well-known piece of painted artwork in the entire world. It was painted by the infamous Leonardo Da Vinci, an Italian artist, sometime between 1504 and 1519, and is a half body commission for a woman named Lisa Gherardini. Her husband, Francesco Del Giocondo requested the work by Da Vinci just after the turn of the century. It is perhaps the most studied piece of artwork ever known. The subject’s facial expression has brought about a source of debate for centuries, as her face remains largely enigmatic in the portrait. At this stage Lisa would have been over twenty-four years of age. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

The truth of the matter is…. while I’m searching the thing that gave my attention was the detail used and technique that Leonardo Da Vinci used in his piece. To think that I have learn a lot of things that I can use in my future artworks. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Mona Lisa stands out amongst the great paintings for the detail in her hands, eyes, and lips. Da Vinci used a shadowing technique at the corners of her lips as well as the corners of her eyes which give her an extremely lifelike appearance and look of amusement. Her portrait is such that to an observer, they are standing right before Lisa Del Giocondo, with the arms of her chair as the barrier between the observer and the subject of the painting. Da Vinci also created a background with aerial views and a beautiful landscape, but muted from the vibrant lightness of the subject’s face and hands. The technique Da Vinci used in executing the painting left behind no visible brush marks, something that was said to make any master painter lose heart. It is truly a masterpiece.
The light gives the variety of living surfaces an underlying geometry of spheres and circles.  Since the brightly lit face is practically framed with various much darker elements (hair, veil, shadows), The woman appears alive to an unusual measure, which Leonardo achieved by his new method not to draw the outlines,. The blurred outlines, graceful figure, dramatic contrasts of light and dark and overall feeling of calm are characteristic of Leonardo's style. Mona Lisa should be considered as a traditional portrait, for it represents an ideal rather than a real woman. Mona Lisa has no clearly visible eyebrows or eyelashes. Mona Lisa was originally painted with eyelashes and with better visible eyebrows, but that these had gradually disappeared over time, perhaps as a result of over cleaning. For modern viewers the nearly missing eyebrows add to the slightly abstract quality of the face.
That I was told a while ago that I can relate of what Leonardo Da Vinci’s works….. on how he created the paintings of Mona Lisa…. even if I didn’t try the Oil paintings I thought it must be same with how I can do with acrylic painting ….the point  is An artist can express the beauty of Arts in their own way.

One thing that I’m really sure is that What Da Vinci’s imparted knowledge to us will be a great help for us.  I really admired his works; I’ll see to it that I will apply all I have learned on his Artworks especially in my paintings.

WEEK 10: CREATIVITY: Think Outside The Box ♥

Since that I’m the only child in the family and to the fact that all of my cousins are busy…  others had their own family… most of them are residing in different  places….  and  not all times I’ll be with my friends… so naturally when I’m home you can see the  normal scenarios….  I’m being alone, so I consume most of my time through creating artworks.  I will do it or I’ve done it in many ways. My talents can boost my creativity in many ways.  My mother told me that when I was 3 years old she remember  that  in spite of my young age I could really shown my creativity in line of arts.

My Doodle.♥
Truly, to enhance creativity you have to develop your talents on whatever interest you may have.  One thing, that you must remember is… being focus, explore and understand why you do things and how you work. It is important to build confidence; it is based on my experiences every time when I join in the contest.  I have to boost my creative skills as I must prepare also to take risks in order to advance my abilities.  I just follow my creative instinct.

I made this when i was in high school. This is our group project in English and i was assigned in the editorial cartooning.

When we work on our own, success or failure is entirely due to our own abilities and hard work. Just like what we do in a group production.
It’s best to get us to work on coming up with as many ideas and concepts as we can individually. If it is a group project, of course then bring people together afterwards to discuss the findings. We can share or give ideas, accepting suggestions so that we can lead to a very useful aspect of enhancing creativity in a group. So if we do teamwork creativity on a group project expecting for a job well done.

As I always said that, it is the outcome of your works that counts, secondly is the praises that comes from other people who appreciate of what you’re doing. :D

WEEK 9: Online Diary

Illustrated and colored in gimp by: Kathrine Crisostomo
Blogging is an online diary. This is where we can express our thoughts, sharing our ideas, and all what we had on mind. Just like Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Blogger is where we can freely discuss anything under the sun.   And one thing which I really like is the challenged how to design my blog. Here we can also show such collection of photographs, or posted images so that the world can see.
But we must be responsible for information that we are posted or featured in our BlogSpot to think that anyone can read this anywhere in the world. So it is much better if we can posted such interesting ideas that we can able to share with other people.
For me, doing blogging is fun to deal with. By the anyway, thanks to Ms. Anna for giving us the opportunities and taught us how to create and introduce us this kind of web site. That was the time when I started to maintained and actively update my blogs every week.  It feels better if we can share interesting facts and discuss it with my own self.
Now as a certified blogger (weh?! di nga!)  I can able to associate my blog with my personal Google account. I can  give my comments ,and  reshared my post with my other friends so that  It will engage with wider audience and followers.

WEEK 8: The Impact of New Media

Nowadays,  “New Media”  plays a very important role in our  daily lives.   It can be our source of information or communication. Most technologies described as "new media" which evolving anywhere, everywhere and all the time. Actually it so much becomes  part of our environment  especially in our home, in offices, schools and other places.
We are on the stages of sorting out the impact of New Media in our lives, but for me it is up to the user as to whether it is good or bad.  Considering the fact that, that new media has really the power to influence everyone of us.  In the sense that we are always utilize media just to inform, educate and entertain us at different times depending on this risk and protection we experiences how to deal with it. We can’t  just view all media as good or bad.  Like for example When I’m  using social media to chat with my friend  I can be beneficial as long as the feedback is ‘POSITIVE’ but if  I  can get ‘NEGA’ feedback  I  may be feel lonely.  So  It's not a matter of “If we are using it “but  “How we are using it.”

WEEK 7: WOOOOO Rain!!

Rainy Day?

It has been raining heavily almost every day as it’s a rainy season.  Feel like there is nothing to do?

I know you are looking for great activities you can do indoors, especially now that we are already expecting a rainy season.  Don’t get board during these days, because a lot of fun and easy things you can do in our home.

Well there are some ideas to get you having some fun even though the sun is not shining outside.  Before you know it the rain will be gone and the sun will be back again to make your day with more fun.

What would you do in rainy day?

Well, now I assumed most of the people like to stay at home during rainy season.

If you ask me what am I going to do when it is raining, I would prefer to stay at home too…. And go to sleep all day long! Coz’ I have a feeling when it’s raining I feel asleep. Sometimes I watching television, listening music, eating snacks , go surfing on the internet and go online or  watching the rain drops … or even if I am in a good mood I will probably make my artworks, I prefer to do my fine line drawings in my sketch pad  or either get my brush and go on with my painting.  In rainy days I also like to read books or hang around with my family…. with family jokes.

When the heavily rains come, I could remember my growing up years. Especially when I heard from weather forecast report about the typhoon … automatically expecting for a class suspension.. ….SO it was considered as a holidays from schools.  That made us happy as a student for an instant vacation.  Don’t  tell me that won’t  you experienced  same  with  what I felt such kind of  instinct as a student. Of course, I used to have a pleasure time walking without umbrella while raining. We were enjoying splashing in the mud or simply getting wet in pouring rain with my cousins.  Ah! We really had pleasure time with the rain without thinking that we might get flu after the rain.

As I had recall when I was a little child, during heavy rain, it might be followed by thunder. It could be frightening then, so I was running to my mother’s hand especially when there was lightning which accompany the rain.

Well, Many of us have fond memories of the rain. We had the joyous moments or sometimes It made us sad because rainy season also brings with flooded roads, mosquitoes, humid weather, diseases and lot more.  With a little care, let us enjoy this rainy season and keep us safe from illnesses. Come to think of It, that rainy days might bring us threat of strong and violent typhoon. So we need to be ready, alert, and be prepared for natural disasters.  Just like one television  NETWORK  launched  as  disaster preparedness  campaign  via  I AM READY… presents with a practical tips on how to prepare for emergency situations using three  M’s as guide…. MAGPLANO… MAGSIGURO… MAKIBALITA.

WEEK 6: BEEP! BEEP! Speed Limits! or NO SPEED LIMITS!

                   BEEP!
                      BEEP!
                        SPEED LIMIT!
                          or NO SPEED LIMIT!

When we heard the word highways, what comes up to your mind?
For me, Highways is roads where the vehicles travel to different routes to the destination, much like cars have multiple ways of getting somewhere. There should be a road speed limit.

In the INTERNET HIGHWAYS, just like the real highways, there are rules to follow, the electronic data travels from one machine to another across networks.

Take note, there is NO SPEED LIMIT on the INTERNET HIGHWAYS.  We can travel as fast as our Internet service provider allows. It depends on the cost, you are willing to pay to get the better service from telecommunication companies you engage in.  Like us we subscribe in the PLDT company so the better service that we can get from them , is depend on what we pay for. So if we had a better performance connection of Internet we can enjoy the travel in different routes to the destination. And once we are connected to the Internet we’re able to exchange information with other people. Here we can utilize the interactive  services like  E-mail, Facebook , Twitter , Yahoo and other social networking site. It can help also in our everyday life especially our studies. we can easily surfing and search.

Therefore, the information highway better known as the INTERNET

Nowadays, Personal computers are no longer the only method used for accessing the Internet.  It is also possible to access the Internet on mobile devices such as cellular telephones and other handheld devices.
In fact, we can go online not only in our personal computers at home, but from internet café, in school, in a library or our friend’s house, and actually now we can access through “FREE WIFI”.  Just like what I’ve notice every time when  I go to mall or riding in the public vehicle  I can see  that anyone can go access internet through WIFI.

Actually, children were got addicted on online games, (even the Adult)  to the fact that there are many games consoles can be connected to Internet.  Aside from that we can use internet for chatting, and other online interaction.

As I have mentioned above those devices that we can use to access internet is the perfect vehicle for traveling in what we called “Internet Highway".

WEEK 5: "OHANA"

Ohana means family, and Family means nobody gets left behind... Or forgotten…” -Lilo and Stitch

Even though we are not real brothers or sisters, we are set as one. Like a Family. And I am so proud that I belong to the MMA family. I would like to describe them in three words: KAPAMILYA, KAPUSO, and KAPATID just like other BIG THREE NETWORKS. We belong in this FAMILY as ONE.

The MMA family really meant for me…They love to discover new things and never giving up to some challenges. We are united. This is my second home and my second family. In my biological family, I’m the only child. I grew up in a small family. But, even though I came from a few member of a family, we live simple, help each other, laugh at the times of trial and not letting one of the member gets hurt. Just like MMA family, treats your friends as a brother or sister, the adviser as a mother or father, and have cooperation with each other. I know we are a small group but we have one heart, one soul and one mind.

"This is my family, I found it, all on my own, It’s little and broken but still good… Yeah…Still good." -Stitch

It's very inspiring, because we as an MMA student will start to BUILD our own dreams....as a FAMILY.

WEEK 4: The essence of teamwork together as a group

Teamwork!” What should I say about this word? I’ve  searched  and  read the quote of Henry Fort about Teamwork: “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

Hmmm… I thought the essence of teamwork would  be  important in every goal of a team as a group.  I remember when I was in high school our teacher assigned in a group project. She said that , It is better to the understand the importance of cooperation between those who are working on a task. " Commonly teamwork is understood as cooperation and willingness to work together.”I have learned also the essential skills an individual needs to acquire in order to work effectively as a team.

Now that I am in college I see to it that I apply all the things that I’ve learned in high school. Until now we have assigned to make a project or presentation as a group.  I  impart of what I have learned before to my groupmates like sharing ideas, sharing my talent,  give support , give helped,  and but most of all participate for what they’re doing.

I believed that team spirit is important to attain the success of a group. All we have to do is to apply the sense of unity, the enthusiasm shared in common interest and responsibilities.

It is important to shared goals and a focus the perpormance  and  I believed that it will comes up with the benefit of a TEAM  AT  WORK.

WEEK 3: INSTANT!

INSTANT.
very fast, quick and seconds. Just like our technology nowadays, it helps us in our daily lives. With just one click, there’s what you need. For me, it helps to shape the way people communicate with one another. This allows us to stay connected to everyone we know, ones we don’t, and some that we don’t expect to interact with again. I believed that the strongest ways technologies have shaped development and communication   is how people in long-distance relationships can stay in touch and continue to be in a relationship, be it friends and romantic. Like for instance, I can always keep in touch with my other relatives and friends through Skype not only here in the Philippines but also in other country. We’re able to talk about pictures posted of one another, and share in time those experiences when we’re not with them. In facebook and twitter, I can share my thoughts, chatting with my friends and update what I am doing right now.

It is true that, Technological developments have changed the way we connect to others, and I also believed that all these new advances in communication technology are good or bad seems to be the popular topic. Now, I notice in my surroundings when I’m walking down the street, I see a lot of people with their heads down looking at a phone screen with their non-stop fingers moving. We are communicating all the time. One thing I can say that, people are interacting with one another 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in a different level of communication.

I believe that the modern technology can helped humankind improve their standards of living. Let us think about the advantages and the disadvantages of the modern technology.

In reality the advantages given by modern technology has solved many problems. It has made life better and quicker In our society. As we look at technologies progress make our society more convenient, people have experienced by social change. While  the disadvantages, affects our perception of the natural world. Whether we like it or not, we are all trap with that modern technology to the fact that we create technology but the truth is technology also create us.

WEEK 2: Free to Express

Why do we talk? And by that I mean, for what reasons do we communicate?

Communication is a tool to express your thoughts and what you feel inside and out. It is the leading way to make a conversation from other people. If you'll know, it's important to us to be connected with other people. We should talk to understand and listen to learn for what they are telling to us. We can do that in sharing what's on our minds, in our hearts , and from our guts. Sometimes we need to explore to develop our self on how to communicate with others. Through communication we can share our experiences to show how they can relate of what's happens in our daily life. But always bear in your mind that we are a free to express and not to impress.

Communication is a process with which we exercise our influence on others, bring out changes in our and others’ attitudes, motivate the people around us and establish and maintain relationships with them.To be a good communicator, all we have to do is to have confidence and be truthful for what we are saying.

Although we do not realize but in everyday we communicate with other people in one way or the other may be directly or indirectly. All of us come across situations when things go wrong due to lack of communication. There can be various barriers in communication which may lead to such a situation.♥

COM TECH♥

This is my 2 minutes presentation in our communication technology. My Professor told us to make a presentation about ourselves (video, powerpoint or visual aid). I know this is kind of embarrassing to present my own video in front of everybody who's going to watch it but I hope you'll like it.

But anyway a special thanks to my former classmates(earl, kay, xyril, and qwe,) who appeared in this video.:))

WEEK 1: LIVE IT UP!!

Finally i'm in college, I'ts another new chapter of my life. This is the stage we're I am going to be independent and open-minded person. It is also the start of gaining confidence and building creativity. I chose MULTIMEDIA ARTS as my course since it is the way that I can be able to express my skills, talents and abilities . The love and passion for ARTS is also present and believe that it can help me to become a better person someday and wishing to be a well trained 3D ANIMATOR. Not only in our country but also in abroad. I  have no regrets in choosing this course and to become a member of CAS FAMILY.  I really enjoy FRESHMEN DAY, I have a great time socializing with other freshmen. First, the priest started the mass and I really like the homily. There's a little bit of orientation in the faculty members. Show some video presentations of our visitors. After that, some cultural groups organizations performed. All of those who performed takes the stage and shines like a star. They were really graceful, energetic, talented and very professional. I was really enjoying it though it has technical problems on it. But the show must go on, and they were awesome. I hope that there's a lot more activity so i'll boost my confidence. GO CAS!!♥
